We recently had the privilege of working on this 2023 Mercedes-Benz S580, focusing on enhancing its appearance and protecting it against the daily wear of commutes on Dallas-Fort Worth highways. The owner opted for a gloss paint protection film for its robust protection and high-gloss look.

Prior to installation, we conducted a thorough inspection of this S580's paint. This essential step helps us identify any repainted panels, allowing us to implement appropriate techniques during film installation if needed. Our examination confirmed the Mercedes-Benz's paint was indeed factory-original.

Hint: A clean title or "no accidents reported" classification in a vehicle history report such as CARFAX does not guarantee that the vehicle hasn't undergone a cosmetic or structural repair like a repaint job. Accidents and repairs are only reported to vehicle history services if they are filed with insurance companies, police departments, or other reporting agencies, so a clean history report does not guarantee a factory-original paint.

We installed paint protection film on the entire body, employing techniques that ensure a seamless, factory-like matte finish. We then applied CARPRO CQUARTZ Skin ceramic coating over the film, enhancing its dirt repellence, slickness, and UV resistance. Each step of the film process is detailed below, showcasing the care and expertise we bring to every project:

  • For a seamless installation on the hood, we removed the Mercedes-Benz emblem.

    Hood

  • After reinstalling the emblem, the paint protection film becomes entirely invisible, looking like it is never there.

    Hood

  • Wrapping the edges of the hood not only protects the edges but also contributes to a clean, seamless look.

    Hood

  • Tucking the edges of the paint protection film offers several advantages.

    Fenders

  • By tucking the edges of the PPF, we eliminate crevices where grime gets stuck.

    Fenders

  • If the gap between the fender and the front bumper is too narrow, it becomes impossible to tuck the paint protection film into the joint.

    Fenders

  • On a white car, it's especially important to tuck in the paint protection film on areas where there is a lot of dirt. This is important because any dirt on the film's edges is easier to see on white paint.

    Fenders

  • Once the windshield garnish is installed, the edge of the paint protection film becomes completely concealed.

    Fenders

  • This fender's design allowed us to conceal the edge of the film within this specific section.

    Fenders

  • This sharp corner is among the few areas where the edge of the paint protection film is noticeable, but for a good reason.

    Fenders

  • To achieve a seamless installation on the front bumper, we removed the Mercedes-Benz emblem.

    Front Bumper

  • Removing the emblem allows us to prevent grime from getting stuck to the film edge around the emblem.

    Front Bumper

  • We tuck the paint protection film around all four edges of each door, ensuring complete coverage and protection.

    Doors

  • We removed the window trims on this S580 to ensure that the edges of the paint protection film are completely concealed.

    Doors

  • Removing window trims is also essential for a contaminant-free and flawless paint protection film installation.

    Doors

  • Wrapping door edges with paint protection film is key for both an invisible look and impact protection.

    Doors

  • We hide the film edges so there's no place for dirt to hide.

    Doors

  • To achieve a seamless installation, we removed the windshield garnish on this S580.

    Quarter Panels

  • When the windshield garnish is reinstalled, it conceals the edges of the paint protection film.

    Quarter Panels

  • To check if a panel received our expert installation, just look closely at the sharp corners, like this one.

    Quarter Panels

  • Here, the paint protection film is carefully tucked into the door jamb, ensuring a seamless installation.

  • This is another picture showing the paint protection film tucked into the door jamb.

    Quarter Panels

  • This picture shows the tucking of the paint protection film into the door jamb, aligning precisely with the body line.

    Quarter Panels

  • We tuck the paint protection film around all four edges of the roof, ensuring complete coverage and protection.

    Roof

  • Here, the paint protection film is carefully tucked into the gap, ensuring a seamless installation.

    Roof

  • We meticulously trim the film to ensure it flawlessly hugs every contour.

    Roof

  • Roof

  • We prefer trimming the paint protection film on sharp corners, instead of "forcing" it to wrap.

    Trunk

  • Tucking the edges is a tedious process and requires precision and patience to ensure a flawless finish.

    Trunk

  • To achieve a seamless installation on the trunk, we removed the Mercedes-Benz emblem.

    Trunk

  • The emblem conceals the edges of the film around the holes, ensuring a seamless installation.

    Trunk

  • We installed a precut paint protection film on the rear bumper of this S580.

    Rear Bumper

  • The film is not tucked into the gap because it isn't wide enough to accommodate the thickness of the film.

    Rear Bumper

  • We neatly trimmed the film around the rear reflector lights.

    Rear Bumper

  • The mirror caps are partially wrapped with the film.

    Mirror Caps

  • Installation of the film on the mirror caps typically involves significant stretching to ensure a proper fit.

    Mirror Caps

  • On rocker panels, it's crucial to tuck the edges of the film into the door jamb to eliminate visible crevices where dirt can accumulate.

  1. Here are 6 reasons why signing up for notifications regarding the availability of this Mercedes-Benz S580 makes perfect sense:
    Factory-original paint

Before PPF installation, we meticulously examined the paint of this S580 and confirmed that it is factory-original, with none of the body panels having been repainted. If you’re in the market for a S-class with OEM paint, this might be the right one for you.

    Built-in paint protection

This S-class is equipped with a full-body paint protection film, setting it apart as a more valuable option in the market. A very high percentage of this Mercedes-Benz’s body is within the high-impact zone, making paint protection film a valuable addition to this vehicle.

    Impeccably maintained

Commitment to keeping a car’s aesthetics in excellent condition usually translates into adherence to timely services, including oil changes. Investing in full-body PPF indicates a desire to protect that investment, suggesting that this S-class with such protection is likely better maintained and in superior condition than others.

    More accurate paint history

Before PPF installation, we meticulously examined this S-class’s paintwork to ensure it is free from any repairable imperfections or contaminants. This process not only allows us to verify the paint’s authenticity at present but also enables us to identify any instances of repainting or rewrapping that may occur in the future.

    Light-colored paint

Light-colored paints, notably white, are more prone to showing rock chips, especially in areas with plastic panels, such as the front bumper. When the paint on these sections is chipped, the underlying black plastic becomes exposed. This creates a striking contrast between the light paint and the dark plastic, making the chips distinctly noticeable and more apparent.

    Aesthetic expectations

If you own a Mercedes-Benz S-class, you naturally expect perfection and exceptional visual appeal. Paint protection film is crucial here. It keeps your car’s exterior immaculate and shields from scratches and daily wear. The self-healing feature of the PPF on this S-class ensures that it will consistently meet your high aesthetic standards and maintain its classy look for years.
