Ceramic Coating Mid-Size
Our ceramic coating process refines the morphology of the paint surface and enhances its properties, such as hydrophobicity, gloss, hardness, and chemical resistance. The coating service includes full paint decontamination, clay barring, 2-stage professional paint correction, and 2-layer CARPRO CQuartz™ Professional Series ceramic coating.
Our process refines and levels the paint surface and delivers an ultra-high gloss finish – giving the paint an extraordinary ability to sheet water, resist chemicals and repel dirt.
We specialize in paint protection coating and paint protection film installations and guarantee that our customers in Dallas Fort Worth get the best service possible with the best products on the market.
How long does the ceramic coating process take?
How long does ceramic coating last?
Our ceramic coating permanently bonds to the paint and seals it at a microscopic level. After curing, it forms an inorganic shell at the surface, refines the surface morphology and dramatically improves slickness.
The economic life† of our coating depends very much on aftercare and maintenance. Ceramic coatings are generically hard coatings and resist swirling and scratching. Due to their inorganic nature, however, they do not self-heal like a Paint Protection Film (aka Clear Bra or PPF) or totally prevent scratching. When a ceramic coated paint swirls and scratches, some of its properties, chiefly hydrophobicity, will start to fade away. This phenomenon is analogous to a Teflon-coated pan's loss of nonstick properties when heavily scratched with a sharp object. Because of this reason, the hydrophobic properties of the coating, such as water beading and sheeting, depend very much on how you wash your car.
We do not recommend automated drive-thru car washes as they increase the risk of swirling and scratching and lead to premature loss of hydrophobicity. With proper care, you can get the most out of the ceramic coating for 10 years or even more. But if you neglect your car or frequently use the cheapest drive-thru car wash in Dallas Fort Worth, some of the properties, especially hydrophobicity, will be lost in 2-3 years. .
† Economic life refers to the length of time a product is expected to be useful to the owner.
Is paint correction necessary before ceramic coating?
Paint Correction preps an automotive finish for ceramic coating. For a variery reasons, paint correction is not an optional step;
(1) Paint should be clay barred before ceramic coating installation. Clay barring is a light abrasive process that aims at removing surface-bonded contaminants off the paint, but can also lightly swirl the paint, depending on the type of the contaminant and paint hardness. For this reason, clay barring must always be proceeded with at least a one or a two-stage paint correction,
(2) Even if your car is brand new, there may be car wash swirls on the paint. Another reason we perform paint correction before a ceramic coating application is to remove these car wash swirls,
(3) Automotive painting is one of the areas where a manufacturer can dramatically reduce costs without getting a legal penalty or serious customer complaint. Some manufacturers – including but not limited to Tesla and General Motors – adopt "a reactive approach" and correct only a few (or maybe none) of the paint imperfections before the unit leaves the factory, whereas some manufacturers adopt "a proactive approach" and allocate much more resources to their painting and quality control operations. If your vehicle has visible paint imperfections, we correct them – free of charge if they are less than eight – before a ceramic coating application.
