What Is RestorFX®
RestorFX® is the most advanced clear coat restoration and paint correction technology on the market today. It is not a polish, not a ceramic coating. It is a two-part professionally-applied automotive clear-coat that chemically adheres to the original paint, repairs the scratches, swirls marks, fading, and restores a high-quality shine. RestorFX® delivers the best of both worlds to used-car owners. It is a way more inexpensive, fast, and risk-free solution than auto painting and exceedingly more effective and fast than traditional paint correction.
Why Do You Need RestorFX®
Clear-coat is the outermost layer of automotive paint. It protects the base-coat and creates a high-gloss finish. Due to car wash, improper care, and environmental factors, it gradually fades, scratches, and oxidizes. RestorFX®is an advanced paint correction and clear coat restoration technology. It forms an additional clear-coat layer that provides extra protection, repairs almost 100% of the blemishes, and restores the paint to a showroom shine.
When Do You Need RestorFX®
On an average new car, you will most likely need RestorFX® paint correction after 2 years of ownership. A frequently-washed black car may need it much sooner. If your car's paint is swirled and scratched due to automatic car wash, RestorFX® can remove them easily. If your car has deep scratches, oxidation, fading, or deep hard water spots, RestorFX® can remove them as well, or any other clear-coat damage.
How RestorFX® Works
The mechanism of action is more complicated than seen here. Before application, every square inch of the exterior paint is lightly wet-sanded with a fine-grit disc. If there are deep local scratches, they are more deeply sanded. Wet sanding partially removes the damaged upper layer of the clear coat. Depending on the size of the vehicle and the roughness of the paint, the prepping process takes 5-to-15 hours. RestorFX® clear-coat is applied by certified technicians. It fills-in the remaining damage and creates a 5-to-10 micron thick super-glossy clear-coat.

Is RestorFX® a Ceramic Coating
Other than being permanent and protective coatings, RestorFX® clear-coating and a ceramic coating have very little in common. RestorFX® is a pure "organic" clear-coating, whereas ceramic coatings are "hybrid" coatings, which means they contain organic binders and inorganic fillers, e.g. silica. Ceramic coatings install a plethora of useful features to a paint finish - such as chemical inertness, hydrophobicity, hardness, etc. - however they do not have the ability correct or restore a paint. If ceramic coating will be applied on a rough paint, the first step should be to remove the scratches, oxidation, water marks, etc. with RestorFX® and prep it for ceramic coating.
